Here's what you need to know.
Our current team consists of a group of people from various walks of life, spanning a relatively wide age span. Yet, we find ourselves driven by the belief that God’s word should be paramount, God’s people should be unified, God’s work should be God-sized, and giving oneself to it is a remarkable privilege.
If you're interested in knowing more about our beliefs, passions, and pursuits, simply read through our DNA below.
Every Christ-following and Bible-believing church has the same mission. How a local church goes about articulating and fulfilling that mission may be different, but the mission remains the same. This belief is driven primarily by the fact that we embrace the notion that the Church in general and local churches in particular, do not have the task of “coming up with a mission”. Rather, the “Mission” (God’s mission) has a “Church” (Called out ones) who are sent.
We understand “vision” to be the long-term result of our efforts as a local church. In keeping with our mission, our vision is simply the outworking of our passion to fulfill the great commission for God’s glory.
1. WORSHIP CHRIST - HIGH IMPACT SERVICE
Our approach to discipleship is simple, we believe that upon placing one’s trust in Christ, an individual who was once far from God becomes a worshiper of God. Though it’s true that this is intended to be a “life” of worship and not merely moments or days of worship, Scripture is clear that worshipping as a body of believers is both necessary and important. For this reason, we will encourage all professing believers to protect and refuse to forsake the Sunday gathering of God’s people.
Hebrews 10:24–25 (ESV) — 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
2. WALK WITH CHRIST- ASSIMILATION
Additionally, Scripture seems to be abundantly clear that although there may be seasons of life, as an exception, in which we find ourselves walking with Christ alone and in isolation, this is not the norm. On the contrary, Scripture has over 40 “One Another” commands that can only be fulfilled as we walk with and do life with one another. Naturally, we cannot engage in such a relationship with every member of the local church in a healthy manner, which is why we will strive to be a church “of” small groups and not merely “with” them and will pursue meaningful relationships with one another consistently. This “uncommon community” will require commitment and care
3. WORK FOR CHRIST- SERVING
Lastly, the Scripture knows nothing of “lame” members of the body of Christ. Anytime you see the image of the church in Scripture, especially the image of the body, the logical conclusion is that Christ not only saves us “from” something, but “to” something. In particular, according to 1 Corinthians 12, Christ saves us so that we might become a meaningful member of his body, leaving no room for:
1) Uniformity,
2) Inferiority
3) Superiority.
Every member matters and to this end, we will strive to lead others into meaningful membership where they can use their skills and giftedness to serve Christ and His church.
If the church is a building, then we must be bricks in it; if the church is a body, then we are its members; if the church is a household of faith, then we are part of that household. Sheep are in a flock, and branches on a vine. Biblically, if we are Christians we must be members of a church. This membership is not simply the record of a statement we once made or of affection toward a familiar place. It must be the reflection of a living commitment or it is worthless. UNAPOLOGETIC PREACHING - 2 Tim 4:2, 1 Corinthians 2:1-2
We will fearlessly proclaim the truth about God and His Gospel by preaching the Scriptures in context, with a dependence on the Holy Spirit to bring eternal life change. We will accomplish this through exposition that has a robust focus on application.
UNASHAMED ADORATION - John 4:24
We will join our voices and lives with worshipers from every tribe, tongue, and people to exalt Jesus Christ, responding to His matchless name. We will accomplish this through a commitment to worship that is in spirit and in truth.
UNCEASING PRAYER - Ephesians 6:18
We will seek the Lord, His will, and His way with hearts humble before Him and confident in His plan. We will hold to an unrelenting commitment to consistent and fervent prayer.
UNAFRAID WITNESS - Matthew 9:36-38
We will invade the darkness of a lost world by proclaiming the truth about Jesus and demonstrating His compassion.
We will do this through both our words and deeds.
We understand “pillars” to be those vertical structures used to uphold the weight of the edifice. In this particular case, we see these vertically focused pillars as those “non-negotiable” commitments that our church should be built upon. For this reason, we will diligently strive to uphold these pillars and make every effort to not get distracted by the many other things that could take center stage in our ministry efforts.
